The Challenge

Revolutionising the way Australia’s leading natural gas producer manages the transport and accommodation of their travelling workforce.

An outdated, inefficient travel booking and accommodation system with a large workforce facilitating travel movements manually. This produced limited visibility, double handling, multiple itineraries and the challenge of “no-shows/go-shows”.

The Solution

IONYX developed a singular travel management platform for flights (commercial and charter), bus transfers, hire cars and on-site and off-site accommodation. This was built in tandem with the global energy group over a 120-day period.

The Results

IONYX facilitated a contract travel team to manage bookings and provide operational support. As well as coordinate emergency response to environmental impacts and natural disasters. This reduced operational expenditure from 20 in-house staff to just 5. In response to COVID-19, IONYX built a workflow within 24hrs to broadcast compliance communications and accelerate health check-ins through SMS.
